Description
  • English: Chairestratos: Themis. Marble, c. 300 BC. Found in Rhamnonte, at the temple of Nemesis. Dedicated to Themis by Megacles. National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
  • Français : Statue de la déesse Thémis, en marbre pentélique, trouvée à Rhamnonte en Attique, dans le petit temple de Némésis. La déesse porte un chiton court, un himation richement drapé et des sandales. La tête et le bras droit sont réalisés séparément. Thémis, fille d'Ouranos et Gaia était la déesse de la justice, et à Rhamnonte, elle était vénérée dans le même temple que Némésis. D'après l'inscription sur la base, la statue est l'œuvre de Chairestratos de Rhamnonte, et fut dédiée à Thémis par Mégaclès. Vers 300 a. C. Musée archéologique national, Athènes, n°231.
