Angelina "Helen" de Luna Tan (born Angelina Beredo de Luna; 1 October 1971)[1] is a Filipina physician and politician. She served as a three-time congresswoman of Quezon's 4th district from 2013-2022 when she was elected as Quezon's new governor, becoming the first woman to hold the office.[2]

Helen is married to Ronnel Tan and have 2 children, including Keith Michael Tan, who is also a politician that was elected and will succeed her as a congressman in Quezon's fourth congressional district.

Political career

Tan ran in Quezon's 4th congressional district from 2013-2016 under United Nationalist Alliance and won. She was re-elected in 2016-2019, then 2019-2022 under Nationalist People's Coalition. During this time, Tan became a chairwoman of the Philippine House Committee on Health. As she was term limited, Tan ran for the 2022 Quezon local elections where she won by a majority over her opponent Danilo Suarez, becoming the first woman to hold the office.
