Mukti Bahini

Mukti Bahini (Bengali: মুক্তি বাহিনী)[1] was a Bengali military force in East Pakistan. It fought against the Pakistan Army in the Bangladesh Liberation War.[2] The war was fought in 1971, and the group was formed during the war. This organisation was also known as the Liberation Army of Bengal. Together with India it fought against the forces of West Pakistan. After the war, East Pakistan became independent from West Pakistan, and is known as Bangladesh today.
