Dorothy Leigh Sayers (Oxford, 13.6. 1893 – Witham, 17.12. 1957) bila je ugledna britanska spisateljica, prevoditeljica, klasična i moderna lingvistica te kršćanska humanistkinja. Studirala je na Koledžu Somerville pri Univerzitetu u Oxfordu. Najpoznatija je po detektivskoj prozi, odnosno seriji romana i novela smještenih u doba između prvog i drugog svjetskog rata čiji je junak engleski aristokrat i detektiv-amater Lord Peter Wimsey. Međutim, sama Sayers je svojim najvećim djelom smatrala prijevod Danteove Božanstvene komedije. Također je poznata po dramama i esejima.
