Arts Leadership and Administration, MFA
The 3-year curriculum is highly individualized and divided into two main parts; the core curriculum, which all MFA students are required to take, and advanced research and training in each student’s chosen area of expertise within the general field of arts administration.
The School of Fine Arts offers several General Education classes online. Please check the Student Administration System for current availability. The School of Fine Arts also offers three innovative online graduate certificates designed to enhance professional and creative skills.
Interdisciplinary courses offered by the School of Fine Arts are designated as FINA and listed in the undergraduate course catalog.
Arts Administration Graduate Certificate
UConn’s online Arts Administration program is designed for individuals currently working in the field that wish to expand their knowledge base or advance their careers, trustees who find themselves with new oversight roles, and young professionals that desire to enter the arts administration field.
Puppet Arts Graduate Certificate
The University of Connecticut’s Puppet Arts program is the premier puppetry program in the United States. To share that expertise, UConn is offering a Puppet Arts Online Graduate Certificate that applies the art of puppetry to a wide range of professions, including visual and dramatic artists, teachers in formal and non-formal educational settings, recreation directors, and media and marketing specialists.
Digital Media and Design Graduate Certificate
UConn’s Digital Media and Design Online Graduate Certificate is designed for graduates from programs in Communications, Social Sciences, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Sciences, the Arts and other related disciplines interested in expanding their skills to include digital capabilities. It is also geared toward current Marketing Managers, Media Directors, Information Graphics Managers, and Web Development Directors who would like a deeper facility and understanding of the digital space.
