One of the last great American roadhouses, this iconic tavern boasts the longest stand-up bar in New Mexico. It dates to 1946, along with most of the other furnishings, when the Mine Shaft Tavern opened. Built in 1944 as the last of the “company town” structures, little has changed in this unique gathering spot since Madrid's mining heyday.
