Trollhättan Municipality (Trollhättans kommun or Trollhättans stad) is a municipality in Västra Götaland Coonty in wastren Swaden. Its seat is locatit in the ceety o Trollhättan.
The municipality wis creatit gradually in 1967, 1971 an 1974 durin the last local govrenment reform when the Ceety o Trollhättan (itsel institutit in 1916) wis amalgamatit wi surroondin municipalities.
The municipality itsel prefers tae uise the denomination Trollhättans stad (Ceety o Trollhättan) for the entire territory, includin rural auries. This is purely nominal an haes nae effect on its status as a unitary municipality. The day, it is the hame o Saab Automobile.
