[eedit | eedit soorce]It is the smallest region in area, contains the major administration government office and with national capital, Asmara Maekel is situate inland, borders Anseba to the north-wast, the Northern Reid Sea region to the north-east, the Southern (Debub) region to the sooth, an Gash-Barka to the wast.
