To influence the industry, the Institute must be influenced by the industry. 

Engagement Initiatives

The Winchester Institute offers several industry engagement opportunities throughout the year.  See below for information about the events which are sponsored throughout the year.

CityBuilders

CityBuilders brings together leading real estate professional, scholars and students to share insights, best practices, to network and explore timely, relevant issues.  CityBuilders initiatives throughout the year include:

Annual Symposium

Held on the Auburn campus, the symposium is focused on bringing leading real estate professionals together with a focus on a relevant and timely topic of particular interest to the industry.  Previous topics have included: The Future of  Affordable Rental Housing, Sports Venues as Economic Drivers, Industrial Real Estate and Logistics and Urban Trails and their Impact on Real Estate Development and Communities.

CityTalks

The CityTalks Guest Lecture Series will present prominent commercial real estate professionals in cities around the Southeast region.  The goal of CityTalks is to foster though leadership in commercial real estate and provide a unique platform for professionals, students, alumni and faculty to connect and learn from industry pioneers.

The Outlook

Held at the beginning of each year on the Auburn campus, this program explores the coming year’s anticipated trends, opportunities and challenges.

CityClubs

CityClubs are localized groups of CityBuilders stakeholders that sponsor CityTalks at designated cities throughout the southeastern region of the US as well as providing community level connectivity for real estate practioners.

Gala

Each Spring, preceded by the Auburn Real Estate Golf Tournament, The Winchester Institute hosts a gala to recognize outstanding graduate and undergraduate students, scholarship recipients, outstanding faculty and alumni, and the most influential corporate partner.

Capstone

Students in the Master of Real Estate Development program complete an extensive Capstone Project as a requirement for their degree.  These projects represent real development opportunities from throughout the Southeast.  If you think you have a project which could benefit from their in-depth research, design and financial analysis, please contact Dr. Justin Benefield at:  jdb0068@auburn.edu to discuss further.
