When launching the v0 of distributed tracing T320549: distributed tracing v0 [minimum viable], we concentrated on the minimum effort necessary to get the system up and running.
This is a tracking task with sub-tasks for all the tradeoffs we made for v0 that we knew wouldn't be happy with for a v1.
