Description
Some links in our interfaces function more as button than links. The distinction between buttons and links can be a bit fuzzy at times, but for example:
reply (Talk page) | view filters (History page) | hide (TOC) | edit (section headings) |
---|---|---|---|
These button-type-links should not get :visited styling.
Solution (short term)
I'm not sure if there's a systematic way to approach this, or if we just have to file tasks one-by-one to fix them.
Discussion (long term)
- One question already raised by the design systems team: should these interface elements be links in the first place? If they were buttons we would avoid the issue of :visited styling
- What about global navigational links (for example the links in the main menu, e.g. Help, Donate, About Wikipedia, etc.)?
- What about table of contents links?
