Rumohr is the name of a non-immigrant family of the ancient nobility of Holstein, that first appeared in the area surrounding the Westensee near Kiel. It is related to and shares it arms with Von Ahlefeldt and the deceased Von Bosendahl († c. 1335) and Von Rastorp († 1749). The name has been alternatively spelled as Rughemor (raw moor), Rummore and Rumor. They are counted among the Equites Originarii, the ancient noble families of Holstein and Stormarn. As the first represenatives of the Von Ahlefeldt and Von Rumohr families we count the brothers Benedictus and Scacco de Prodole (Benedict and Schack of Perdöl), who are first mentioned in documents dating to 1220 and 1221. One "Scacco de Rumore" is mentioned also in 1245 and 1253. He named himself after the village Rumohr to the south east of Kiel.

Der letzte Kaiser Wilhelm II. wurde infolge der Novemberrevolution und der Ausrufung der Republik am 9. November 1918 zur Abdankung gezwungen.
Die Stammburg Hohenzollern liegt rund 30 Kilometer südlich von Tübingen auf der Gemarkung von Bisingen bei Hechingen im Zollernalbkreis. Auf dem Gebiet des heutigen Regierungsbezirks Tübingen bestanden bis 1849 zwei kleine selbstständige Fürstentümer: das Fürstentum Hohenzollern-Hechingen mit den Stammlanden des Gesamthauses und das Fürstentum Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, dessen Gebiet ab 1534 beherrscht wurde. Beide hohenzollerischen Fürstentümer fielen 1850 an Preußen und wurden zu den Hohenzollernschen Landen. Angehörige des Hauses Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen konnten von 1866 bis 1947 nochmals als rumänische Monarchen politischen Einfluss erlange
