Jonathan Vincent Voight (lahir pada 29 Disember 1938) adalah seorang pelakon filem, teater dan televisyen dari Amerika Syarikat. Beliau pemenang Anugerah Akademi untuk Pelakon Lelaki Terbaik pada tahun 1978 dengan lakonannya dalam filem Coming Home malah turut memenangi empat Anugerah Golden Globe.
Beliau ayah kepada Angelina Jolie dan James Haven yang turut juga menceburi bidang lakonan.
Biografi
[sunting | sunting sumber]Jonathan lahir pada 29 Disember 1938 di Yonkers, New York,[1] kepada Barbara Kamp (1910–1995) dan Elmer Voight (nama keluarga asal: Voytka; 1909–1973),[2] seorang pegolf profesional. Beliau anak kedua daripada tiga adik-beradik, abangnya Barry Voight (lahir 1937), seorang bekas pakar vulkanologi di Pennsylvania State University[3] manakala adiknya James Wesley Voight (lahir 1940) penggubah dan penyanyi lagu genre country. Beliau dibesarkan dalam keluarga berpenganut Katolik:[4] keluarga ayahnya berketurunan Slovak[5] manakala ibunya berketurunan Jerman.[2]
Beliau menaruh minat terhadap bidang lakonan semasa bersekolah di Archbishop Stepinac High School di White Plains, New Yorksehingga melibatkan diri dalam pementasan muzikal tahunan dianjurkan sekolah tersebut. Beliau melanjutkan pengajiannya di The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., beliau lulus pengajiannya dengan ijazah Sarjana Muda seni tahun 1960.
Beliau mencuba nasibnya di Bandar Raya New York.
