Project description	What a project do you propose?; A list of all known cybercrimes. What will be its scope?; As wide as possible - without assisting cybercriminals. How would it benefit to be part of Wikimedia?; The subject area is so vast, that only a mass participation project would have any chance to cover all the huge numbers of incidents.
Is it a multilingual wiki?	Will there be many language versions or just on one multilingual wiki?; Hoped to be as international as possible, as cybercrimes aren't restricted by national borders.
Potential number of languages	Is the project going to be in one language or in many?; Probably initially in English, but other languages would be needed for full coverage.

Technical requirements
New features to require	If the project requires any new features that the MediaWiki software currently doesn't have, please describe in detail. Are additional MediaWiki extensions needed for the project?; Later on more sophisticated features can be added, but obviously the security and integrity of the information posted is of vital importance for the project to work effectively.

With the enormous amount of cybercrime currently being committed, (including by large and powerful nation states), I have been wondering if it might be possible to record the incidents in one place, for people to be able to better understand the trends and to help improve computer security procedures ?

Because of the enormous number of incidents, (going back to before the creation of the World Wide Web), I think that it would be impossible for any single person to compile a list of incidents on their own, I am therefore wondering if Wikipedia could be used as a way to accumulate such a large and complex record, using many different contributors as is the standard method of Wikipedia ?

But because of the criminal nature of the subject matter, it would probably be necessary to have some barriers in place, to prevent published information from being removed or altered by unscrupulous people ?

The Wikipedia gathered information obviously should be publicly accessible and searchable, just as other Wikipedia Web pages are ?

Whilst Wikipedia already has some information about cybercrime, it far from a comprehensive or exhaustive list, so I think that what I propose would be a significant improvement.

I envisage the cybercrime section of Wikipedia as being separate from the general Wikipedia articles, and being a separate section, just as there are already some other sub sections of Wikipedia, such as for Travel or for Quotations.

While such a website might encourage cybercrime or help to make its techniques more accessible, the aim is to help people improve computer security, and make it easier for companies involved in computer security to improve their methods, and to reduce the vulnerabilities of computer users.

I hope that it will be possible to develop this type of resource, so that the current very poor situation might improve.
