Cycling

edit

Hi Douglasfugazi. You have done a very big work. I bring two corrections, we have "-" when the name of a team have different sponsors, see Strongman-Campagnolo-Wilier. Sometimes teams forget. With member of sports team (P54), we always use the item of a cycling team as Strongman-Campagnolo-Wilier and never the season as Strongman-Campagnolo-Wilier 2017. A way to memorise is to say the cyclist enter in an enterprise, items for season are just used to make rosters. I will contact you in few time about properties to create. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (talk) 11:12, 22 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks for the team creation :). Psemdel (talk) 17:47, 21 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

P2327

edit

Please don't add ProCyclingStats race ID (P2327) ID's for the total race to stages, they have their own id's. This is causing constraint violations. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 18:30, 18 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Fortuneo-Oscaro

edit

Hi Douglasfugazi

Will "Pro Cycling Breizh" be the new name for Fortuneo-Oscaro in 2018? I can't find a source on that, but I found the name "Fortuneo-Samsic" here. --Hejsa (talk) 19:16, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Hejsa: the new name have been registered for the 2018 season as "Pro Cycling Breizh" (FST). It was announced by UCI some days ago. Check it out: Registration of UCI WorldTeams and UCI Professional Continental Teams for the 2018 season. Kindest Regards. Douglasfugazi (talk)
Thanks --Hejsa (talk) 20:01, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi Douglasfugazi, the name will be Fortuneo-Samsic --Hejsa (talk) 16:49, 29 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Same question with FDJ. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (talk) 10:11, 2 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Hejsa: @Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick: Happy New Year 2018 to both us. Yes, according to UCI Team's page. Fortuneo-Oscaro (2017) will be named as Fortuneo-Samsic (2018) and FDJ finally doesn't changed name, it will be as same name of 2017. I've updated wikidata and wikipedia with name correctly. Kindest Regards. Douglasfugazi (talk)

2018

edit

Happy new year. A new page was created to list items about cycling races : Wikidata:WikiProject Cycling/2018 races. It will be more easy. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (talk) 10:12, 2 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks @Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick: Happy new year for you too. Yes, the new page is very useful, but for me is missing important elements like: Flags of country where the race is running, winner of the race with flags, team of the race with flags, and also would be nice a template more stylized. Kindest Regards. Douglasfugazi (talk)
The idea here is just to avoid to create items in double or triple with the loss of time associated and to make more easily the updates once the race is done. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (talk) 16:45, 2 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Q50807620 and Q50807699

edit

Hey Douglasfugazi, you created Q50807620 and Q50807699 recently. I can't find any Wikipedia sitelinks for them, did you perhaps forget to link them? Thanks, MisterSynergy (talk) 05:13, 3 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Philipinas Cycling Race

Ronda Pilipinas (Q59788311) and Ronda Pilipinas (Q22080952) is it by chance the same race? It seems that before that she had a local status.

Saudi Tour

edit

Hi Douglasfugazi,

Are you sure that the Saudi Tour and the race from 1999 are the same thing? I'm not sure. --Hejsa (talk) 17:16, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Hejsa: Probably yes. Check here: Procyclingstats, Firstcycling.com. Let me know. Thanks --Douglasfugazi (talk) 17:24, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Douglasfugazi: It just seems a little bit wrong to me, that the Saudi Tour 2020 is called the 5th Saudi Tour, it should in my opinion be the 1st edition with that name. --Hejsa (talk) 17:35, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hejsa: I think that Saudi Tour was on hiatus, but ASO has reactived it under their control. What do you think? should be QXXX splitted again?. Thanks --Douglasfugazi (talk) 19:53, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Douglasfugazi: I think it should be splitted again. On the website they call "Rui Costa for the first ever winner in Saudi" and the words "brand-new 5-day event". So we call the old event "Tour of Saudi Arabia" / "Tour de Arabia Saudita" and the new event "Saudi Tour". --Hejsa (talk) 20:07, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hejsa: The first 4 races (There was still a race in 2013 http://www.cyclingarchives.com/wedstrijdfiche.php?wedstrijdid=7638) I added. Maybe ask Mr. Ibrahem with information about the early races? You can still put all the first races serial number zero (0) - they were but not officially. The module can display winners starting from any year. — GAN (talk) 20:41, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@GAN: I'm now sure that it is a new race, see Saudi Tour: Act I. We should not mix the old ones with the new race, they don't seem to have anything to do with each other. On Wikidata the races should be splitted, it is just confusing and wrong now. --Hejsa (talk) 22:52, 5 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
See also the regulations here --Hejsa (talk) 21:41, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Soooo guys @Hejsa: @GAN: @GAN: @Mr. Ibrahem:, Saudi Tour is gonna be splitted or what? --Douglasfugazi (talk) 22:53, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Douglasfugazi: Yes, that would be the right thing --Hejsa (talk) 22:57, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Douglasfugazi: It doesn't seem like they have an opinion about it, let's split them up --Hejsa (talk) 10:40, 9 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hejsa: How is that option? Change the number of the race in 2020 to "1", so that the card displays as the first. The rest will have a "0". Winners can be displayed as follows (see code through edit).

GAN (talk) 16:57, 9 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@GAN: I'm not a fan of that solution. The data on Wikidata will still be incorrect with the inception year. And the section "has part" has editions that are not part of the Saudi Tour. --Hejsa (talk) 17:18, 9 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@GAN: @Douglasfugazi: @Mr. Ibrahem: I will do the split tomorrow. --Hejsa (talk) 16:11, 12 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hejsa: Perfect, no problem. Thanks a lot! --Douglasfugazi (talk) 16:26, 12 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Race in Belgium

edit

Hi Douglasfugazi. For now the races are canceled until April 4th. There were no official announcements for the Ronde van Vlaanderen. Even if I think that Ronde van Vlaanderen will be canceled, for the moment this is not the case (ref + ref). Bordurie (talk) 10:24, 13 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Raceid at PCS

edit

Hi! I searched through history and saw that you added a raceid at PCS database to Milan-San Remo 2020 edition. Can you help me how to find this raceid for each race? Today I created Q98148687 but couldn't manage to find that raceid on PCS website (typical url doesn't have it) - do you know how I can find it (in general not only this one case as I plan to add some more races from Poland)? 99kerob (talk) 17:58, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello @99kerob:, it is very easy to find the raceId: 1. Go to procyclingstats.com. 2. Login with a valid account. 3. Search for the race (puchar-ministra-obrony-narodowej). 4. On the top click on the menu MORE. 5. A new dropdown is displayed, select the option EMBED. 6. A new page is open with all details of the race (embed-results) 7. See the ID on the bottom right of the page: ID: 248434. 8. Paste the ID number in the Wikidata race :) That is all. Let me know if you need more assistance. Kindest regards. --Douglasfugazi (talk) 21:40, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot! It works even for unregistered users :). 99kerob (talk) 06:50, 9 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

cycling-init-bot.toolforge

edit

Hi, I just activated your account. Right now the site does not work (I still need to look at it, I don't understand what is going on). At least you can have a look at the features offered. I will try to repair it... emergently. Psemdel (talk) 15:16, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

I spent 2 hours trying to make it work, but somehow since I updated pywikibot, nothing works on the cloud anymore. Locally it works perfectly. Very annoying. Psemdel (talk) 18:29, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Psemdel: Thank you, I've tried to run but it doesn't works because requests sent is not loading anymore. I've looked all features offered and super useful because I would like to create new teams season for ProTeam and Continental. I am not super teachie to download locally and run it, but I hope you can fix it asap. Thanks and keep up good job! --Douglasfugazi (talk) 18:34, 9 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your feedback. It was exactly the goal: to give access to such tool to person not so teachie. I have to get some help (but have very little time for this right now). Psemdel (talk) 12:28, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
It seems to work again. I changed nothing, it is a bit strange but nevermind. Psemdel (talk) 10:43, 16 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hey @Psemdel:, today I've been trying to test the cycling bot but it continues not working for me. I have 2 requests but they are not working or loading properly. can you take a look, please? This is a screenshot of my requests: https://prnt.sc/26frta7 Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks, bro. --Douglasfugazi (talk) 15:57, 19 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
To avoid that people could use this vector for attack, I set by default that other users can create requests but that I must validate them myself. Actually, given the speed of the thing, I think the risk is really minimal. I forgot this point (I created the site last year). Nevermind, I gave you the "autocheck" right, I trust you, so no need for validation anymore. PS: your requests are completed. Psemdel (talk) 20:08, 19 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much @Psemdel:, the Bot is working properly for me now. But I have a suggestion for you regarding 'Team Season', could you add to an instance of 'P31' also if the team is UCI WorldTeam (Q6154783), UCI ProTeam (Q78464255), UCI Continental Team (Q1756006), UCI Women’s WorldTeam (Q80425135), Female amateur cycling team (Q26849121), Amateur cycling team (Q20652655). In order to have a team completed with all details. What do you think? is it possible to add into 'Create a team season' form? it would be awesome. Thanks and good job with the cycling-bot. --Douglasfugazi (talk) 00:42, 20 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

A good point. I thought at one time that this property would be inherited from the parent, but actually not. Psemdel (talk) 16:55, 20 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Cycling race

here is the edit. This is for translating/adapting the "Module:Cycling race". Psemdel transferred this parameter to all races by a bot. More Module_talk:Cycling_race#Sorting_out_the_properties. — GAN (talk) 19:06, 9 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Pan American Road Cycling Championships - Juniors

edit

Hello. Conducted since 2007. Race results since 2007 - Cyclingarchives (M RR U19, M ITT U19, W RR U19, W ITT U19) and First Cycling (M RR U19, M ITT U19, W RR U19, W ITT U19). They entered the calendar es:Copa de las Naciones UCI Juniors and fr:UCI Coupe des Nations Femmes Juniors. It was not held from 2020 to 2022, possibly due to Covid. Since 2023 it has been merged with the main championship. But the place and dates until 2019 did not coincide with the main championship of Panamerica. For example, 2008:
- Elite and U23 Uruguay, May 4-11, 2008
- U19 Ecuador 07 June (One of the races)
In addition to the figures of statistics, there is nothing more. I'm looking for any textual information. — GAN (talk) 19:15, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello @GAN
Thanks for reaching me out, but to be honest, I am not aware of the Pan American Road Cycling Championships Junior edition. Also I was looking for more results from Olympics website but unfortunately I didn't find nothin related to the winners on Road Cycling Junior Santiago 2023 statistics. Also the UCI webpage hadn't listed the Pan American championships on the calendar UCI website to Junior category. So, I am not sure if it happened on the last 2023 edition. Thanks. Douglasfugazi (talk) 21:20, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
"Santiago 2023" is Panamerian games. There are all results with them with sources en:Cycling at the 2023 Pan American Games

Championship 2023 Junior racing included. On the UCI website, the results of 2023 are https://dataride.uci.ch/iframe/CompetitionResults/69167?disciplineId=10

https://dataride.uci.ch/iframe/Results/10 - This Road cycling
https://dataride.uci.ch/iframe/Results/05 - But the replacement of the tinker in the link can be obtained by another discipline. For example "Indoor Cycling".

On it, they helped me a little information. https://www.esciclismo.com/actualidad/carretera/74140.html and https://www.esciclismo.com/actualidad/carretera/75572.html

Junior championship on the UCI website as a separate tournament - 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019 And the winners of the South Americans, in particular the Colombians, were. But not statistics (a regular note, text) is hard for me to find.

Boucles de la Mayenne

edit

Hi! A list of the first three riders of every year is published on page 80 of "Magazine des Boucles de la Mayenne 2024" that can be downloaded from or viewed on the official site of the race - here. I don't know how to fill in the gaps in the results-lists on Wikidata (from 1975 to 1988 second and third place is missing here). Best regards Episcophagus (talk) 08:30, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
