The New American Poetry 1945-1960

E Vicipaedia

The New American Poetry 1945–1960 est anthologia poematum a Donaldo Allen edita annoque 1960 prolata. "Tertiam aetatem" poetarum Americanorum modernisticorum eligere conata est, et permulta poemata nova ex magazinis parvis annis 1950 exeuntibus comprehendit. Liber statum classicum ad ultimum consecutus est, approbationem criticam acquirens venditionesque continuas habens, anno 1999 praeterea reimpressus.

Donaldus Allen anno 1958 operam The New American Poetry dare coepit.

In secundo: Ashbery, Guest, O'Hara, Schuyler, Koch. Ex Franciscopoli: Spicer, Ginsberg, Whalen, Welch, Snyder, Meltzer, Lamantia, Loewinsohn, Everson (Frater Antoninus), Broughton, McClure, etc. Etiam praesentes, quamquam fortasse parum minus cooptati: Field, Corso, Sorrentino. Tam fracta erant respublica litteraria illius temporis quam nemo harum vocum in anthologia consimili, volumine Hall-Pack-Simpson, apparuit. Quod paene omne nomen in hac congerie inventum persona nota nunc est providentiam Allenianam laudibus debitis efficit.[2][3]

Liber tempore publicationis famam auxit poetarum sicut Robertus Duncan, Robertus Creeley, Dionysia Levertov, Paulus Blackburn, et Carolus Olson, nunc personarum agnitorum in motu qui tum contraditio emergens erat.[4] Allen anthologias alternis annis edere primum voluit; solum autem duos libros tales per viginti annos sequentis produxit: New American Writing (Penguin, 1965) et The Postmoderns (Grove, 1965).[5] Haec anthologia multum in Canada valuit: secundum The Canadian Encyclopedia, "Scripturam unius saltem aetatis poetarum Canadiensium movit."[6][7]

  1. In eorum numero etiam sunt poetae Aetatis Prostratae.
  2. Anglice: "Those included in this ground-breaking anthology were chosen from among about three distinct groupings: Black Mountain, the New York School, and the San Francisco Renaissance. In the first group—Creeley, Blackburn, Duncan, Eigner, Levertov, Olson, Oppenheimer, Dorn, Wieners and Jonathan Williams. Among the second: Ashbery, Guest, O'Hara, Schuyler, Koch. From San Francisco: Spicer, Ginsberg, Whalen, Welch, Snyder, Meltzer, Lamantia, Loewinsohn, Everson (Brother Antoninus), Broughton, McClure, etc. Also present, though perhaps slightly less affiliated: Field, Corso, Sorrentino. So divided was the literary politics of the day that not one of these voices appeared in its parallel version, the Hall-Pack-Simpson volume. A tribute to Allen's prescience is that nearly every name in this gathering is now a familiar figure."

  4. Hodie, The New American Poetry artefactum culturalem et signum ab aetatibus futuris agnoscitur—genus poesis in Ezra Pound, Gulielmo Carolo Williams, et Ludovico Zukofsky ortum, se per vitas et opera Olson, Georgii Oppen et "poetarum obiectivisticorum," Duncan, Creeley, Allen Ginsberg, Levertov, et aliorum (praecipue sub Bellum Orbis Terrarum II) extendens, et vicissim ad poetas linguarum inclinans.
