Alexis Soyer
Alexis Soyer, nomine pleno natali Alexis Benoît Soyer (Meldis die 4 Februarii 1810 natus; Londinii mortuus die 5 Augusti 1858) fuit coquus et scriptor de re cibaria. Primus inventor fuit furni portabilis militaris nomine Soyer stove satis celebris.
Iuvenis in popinis Parisiensibus, deinde in coquina principis Iulii de Polignac opus coquinarium didicit, sed anno 1830 Angliam petivit ubi frater natu maior iam coquus merebat iuxta Adolphum ducem Cantabrigiae. Alexis Soyer ibidem breve temporis spatium, mox apud alios optimates nonnullos, sed ab anno 1837 usque in 1850 apud Reform Club, societatem politicorum praecipue liberalium, coquus principalis operam dedit: ibi cum architecto Carolo Barry coquinam novarum aedium designavit. Inter famem Hibernicam Dublinum profectus est ad iuscella egentibus praebenda; inter bellum Crimaeanum in exercitu Britannico usum furni portabili, principia nutritionis, ordinem coquinarum militarium docebat.
