Phasianus colchicus
Appearance
Phasianus colchicus est species avium familiae Phasianidarum ordinis Galliformium. Colchicus, epitheton specificum, ex Colchide appellatur, regno antiquo in orientali Ponti Euxini litore, parte Georgiae civitatis sui iuris hodiernae, ubi Europaei phasianos primum invenierunt.[2] Ex genere Gallo abhinc annorum 20 milliones ortus est.[3] Endemicus est in Asia, montibus septentrionalibus Caucasi et Balcaniae, aliisque regionibus Europaeis.
