Unconditional elasticities in two-stage demand systems : an approximate solution

Abstract
Les systèmes de demande spécifiés en deux étapes supposent que les consommateurs allouent d'abord leurs dépenses à des groupes de biens puis, dans un deuxième temps ventilent les dépenses allouées aux biens constitutifs de ces groupes. Ces systèmes reposent sur une hypothèse de séparabilité faible des préférences des consommateurs. En faisant l'hypothèse supplémentaire que les sous-indices de prix définis pour les groupes de biens varient peu en fonction des niveaux d'utilité associée à ces groupes, les auteurs montrent comment calculer simplement de manière approchée les élasticités-prix des biens dans de tels systèmes.
