Segregación escolar por nivel socioeconómico: disparidades entre las provincias argentinas

Abstract
Diversos estudios han mostrado que la segregación escolar por nivel socioeconómico es un problema relevante en Argentina, con consecuencias negativas sobre la equidad educativa y social. Dichos antecedentes ofrecen estimaciones de la segregación a nivel de todo el país, pero no permiten explorar las diferencias entre las distintas jurisdicciones, un aspecto que resulta de interés debido a la descentralización del sistema educativo. El objetivo del presente trabajo es cuantificar y comparar la segregación escolar por nivel socioeconómico entre las provincias argentinas en la educación básica. Para ello, se realizan estimaciones del Índice de Disimilitud empleando datos de los operativos Aprender 2017 y 2018 para el nivel secundario y primario, respectivamente. Los resultados sugieren que existen brechas inter-provinciales significativas en los niveles de segregación y diferencias en la configuración del fenómeno, que se reflejan en las comparaciones entre los niveles primario y secundario, o entre los grupos de origen social vulnerable y favorecido.
