Abstract
The planning phase of an ABM is a critical step to produce robust and understandable implementations. An isolation of business logic, an object structure inspired by the real world counterpart of the model and the usage of design patterns such as the strategy and the observer are efficient ways to improve the model without sacrificing simplicity. Inspired by concrete examples from the refactoring of the Black Rhino model, we demonstrate the enrichment provided by our recommendations.
