Abstract
México enfrenta, actualmente, una emergencia sanitaria sin precedentes por causa de la pandemia Covid-19 (FMI, 2020). El 11 de febrero de 2020 la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) reconoce un nuevo virus, coronavirus de tipo 2, causante del síndrome respiratorio agudo severo (SARS-CoV-2), también conocido como Covid-19. El 11 de marzo de 2020, la OMS declara la epidemia de Covid-19 como pandemia (OMS, 2020). Para el 23 de marzo de 2020, el gobierno federal inicia la jornada nacional de sana distancia y suspende las actividades no esenciales. Para la primera semana de julio de 2020, México alcanza un pico máximo en su tasa de letalidad (razón entre fallecimientos e infectados confirmados) de más el 26%.
