Abstract
This chapter assesses market-mediated financial integration in the new century. It first provides several definitions of financial integration from the perspective of capital markets, and then reviews the evidence regarding whether covered interest parity, uncovered interest parity and real interest parity hold across industrial and non-industrial countries. It then examines the determinants of real interest differentials.
