Asimetría y Convergencia en política monetaria entre Canadá, Estados Unidos y México

Abstract
En el presente artículo examinamos la evolución de la política monetaria de las economías que conforman el Tratado de Libre Comercio de Norteamérica (TLCAN), para el periodo 1980-2015. Con base en un análisis empírico que incluye el escrutinio de hechos estilizados de las variables monetarias de Canadá, Estados Unidos y México, pruebas de Causalidad de Granger y modelos de corrección de errores (VEC), concluimos que, en paralelo al proceso de integración comercial de estos países, el lado monetario del TLCAN exhibe divergencias y convergencias que implican una integración asimétrica de la economía mexicana con Estados Unidos y (en menor medida) Canadá.
