Abstract
The rise of craft beer has been unstoppable for the last years. This paper analyzes the situation of the above mentioned sector in Spain and also it offers an international perspective. Before the lack of academic publications linked to this flourishing sector, an empirical study was realized among the Spanish microbreweries obtaining a business profile and interesting information related to the export. Likewise, the results of the research show that there are foreign attractive markets for the Spanish product, though it will be necessary to make transformations in the national area before focusing on the foreign countries.
