Demokratische Vielfalt in Deutschland – unterscheiden sich die Volksparteien noch?

Abstract
Am 24. September 2017 haben die Deutschen einen neuen Bundestag gewählt. Im Wahlkampf wurde häufig kritisiert, dass die inhaltliche Abgrenzung der Parteien untereinander immer undeutlicher wird und sich insbesondere die Positionen und Politiken der beiden großen Volksparteien CDU/CSU und SPD kaum noch voneinander unterscheiden. Das ifo Institut und die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung haben diese Kritik zum Anlass genommen, in der Septemberausgabe ihres Ökonomenpanels deutsche Ökonomen vor der Bundestagswahl um ihre Einschätzung der Unterscheidbarkeit zwischen Union und SPD und den damit einhergehenden Auswirkungen auf die Demokratie in Deutschland zu bitten. Die Befragten bestätigen dabei mehrheitlich die Kritik und wünschen sich wieder mehr Unterschiede zwischen Union und SPD. Die Konvergenz der Volksparteien ist aus ihrer Sicht auch für den Erfolg der AfD mitverantwortlich.
