A Geografia dos ricos no Brasil

Abstract
Analisa-se neste trabalho quais são as repercussões de desigualdades regionais e locaisno padrão geográfico de distribuição dos ricos, atualmente concentrados nas regiõesSul e Sudeste do Brasil. Os dados são provenientes da concatenação das PesquisasNacionais por Amostra de Domicílios (Pnads) 1997, 1998 e 1999. As comparaçõesregionais são feitas usando-se uma classe de indicadores de riqueza, denominada Ra,de estrutura semelhante aos índices FGT* de pobreza. Os resultados indicam que amaior parte das diferenças na distribuição espacial dos ricos não deve ser atribuída aosconflitos distributivos locais e a seu resultado em termos de desigualdades na distribuiçãopessoal de rendimentos, mas sim às desigualdades entre regiões.
