¿Posee el Valle del Cauca una economía transformadora de importaciones orientadas a la Exportación?

Abstract
En éste documento Jaime Andrés Collazos y Pedro Luis Rosero pretenden evaluar si el crecimiento económico observado en el Valle del Cauca durante los anos 1960-2005 impulsó las importaciones y exportaciones, o si por el contrario, fue el dinamismo del comercio exterior lo que provocó el crecimiento en la economía. Los resultados revelan que no existe suficiente evidencia econométrica para concluir que el departamento posea una economía transformadora, dado que las exportaciones e importaciones no impulsaron el crecimiento económico departamental. Más bien se encontró que el crecimiento económico fue el que promovió el incremento del comercio exterior en el Valle del Cauca.
