Abstract
En este estudio, aplicamos una técnica que produce mediciones del conocimiento financiero y de las actitudes hacia las finanzas mediante una combinación de variables, cuyas ponderaciones consignan su efecto sobre las variables de conocimiento financiero, lo que proporciona una guía para el diseño de políticas. Utilizamos datos compilados por CAF - banco de desarrollo de América Latina- provenientes de Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador y Perú. Es la primera vez que esta técnica se utiliza en un marco multinacional. Mostramos que la composición y la ponderación varían dependiendo de cada país. Sin embargo, las variables de actitud hacia las finanzas llaman la atención en todos los países, sobre todo en la manera en que los individuos se fijan objetivos a largo plazo.
