Abstract
Der vorliegende Bericht verfolgt das Ziel, den Status quo und rezente Trends zu den sechs "Wiener Spitzenthemen" des Wirtschafts- und Innovationsprogrammes "Wien 2030" zum Start der Programmperiode (2019) im Rahmen einer empirischen Analyse darzustellen. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, wurden zwei Analyse-Stränge verfolgt: Erstens, eine datengetriebene SWOT-Analyse auf Basis aktueller ökonomischer Methoden. Zweitens, ein beispielhaftes Monitoring der Zielerreichungsgrade zu den in "Wien 2030" für die einzelnen Spitzenthemen formulierten Ziele anhand geeigneter Indikatoren. Die SWOT-Analyse beurteilt das Profil eines Spitzenthemas nicht nur hinsichtlich der Spezialisierungsgrade (Lokationsquotienten) der zugrundeliegenden Wirtschaftsbereiche, sondern auch deren Einbettungsgrad in technologisch bzw. kognitiv verwandte Aktivitäten am Standort. Das Monitoring der Zielerreichungsgrade anhand ausgewählter Zielindikatoren versucht – wo immer möglich – auch einen internationalen Vergleich der Metropolregionen. Die Analyse verdeutlicht eine hohe Bedeutung der sechs Themenkreise für die Wirtschaft der Metropolregion Wien, eine hohe Wachstumsdynamik sowie gute Voraussetzungen für die erfolgreiche Weiterentwicklung aller sechs Themen auf Basis der vorhandenen Stärkefelder.
