Determinantes de la inversi—n extranjera directa en AmŽrica Latina: una visi—n desde la econom’a administrativa

Abstract
El presente trabajo propone una extensi—n al modelo de la teor’a eclŽctica de Dunning para explorar el efecto que variables de la econom’a administrativa tienen en el comportamiento de los flujos de la inversi—n extranjera directa (IED) para el caso de cinco pa’ses Latinoamericanos. Utilizando un modelo de datos panel se estima que, para el periodo 2006-2015, variables como el costo de hacer cumplir un contrato, costo de registrar una propiedad, tama–o de la industria bancaria y trabajo en la industria de la agricultura desincentivan la IED hacia pa’ses Latinoamericanos, al tiempo que elementos relacionados con la apertura comercial la fomentan. En aras de incrementar el flujo de IED hacia pa’ses de AmŽrica Latina, se sugiere dise–ar mecanismos que reduzcan los costos de transacci—n acompa–ados de pol’ticas pœblicas que promuevan la competencia dentro del sector bancario local y se persiga la especializaci—n de la mano de obra.
