Abū Yūsuf Ya'qūb Ibn as-Sikkīt[n 1] (ابو يوسف يعقوب ابن السكيت Bloom ابن السكيت) Ya kasance mai koyar da ilimin harshe ga ɗan Khalifa Abbasid Al-Mutawakkil kuma babban masanin ilimin lissafi da masanin shayari na makarantar al-Kūfah. An hukunta shi bisa umarnin Khalifa kuma ya mutu tsakanin 857 da 861.

Shi dan al-Sikkīt ne, masanin ilimin harshe na makarantar Kūfī, mutum ne na kimiyya, kuma abokin malaman al-Kisā"ī da al-Farrā. Inda mahaifin ya yi fice a cikin shayari da ilimin harshe, dan ya yi ficewa a cikin harshe. Mahaifinsa ya fito ne daga ƙauyen Dawraq, Ahwaz Khuzestan (Iran),

Ya'qūb masanin Baghdād ne, wanda ya bi al'adar makarantar Kūfī a cikin harshe, kimiyyar Alkur'ani da shayari. Ya yi karatu kuma ya rubuta harshen Larabci mai tsabta daga Larabawa na hamada. Ya koyar da 'ya'yan al-Mutawakkil, wadanda suka kasance Al-Muntasir da Al-Mu'tazz.

Sunan mahaifiyar Ya'qūb shine Abū Yūsuf kuma dansa, Yūsuf, abokin kotu ne kuma yana kusa da Khalifa al-Mu'taḍid.
