Dosunmu (c. 1823 – 1885), wanda ake kira a cikin takardun Birtaniya Docemo, ya yi sarauta a matsayin Oba na Legas daga shekarar 1853, lokacin da ya gaji mahaifinsa Oba Akitoye,[1] har zuwa rasuwarsa a shekarar 1885.[2] An tilasta masa ya gudu zuwa Birtaniya a karkashin barazana ta karfi a watan Agustan 1861.
Shiga

Hamayya da Kosoko
[gyara sashe | gyara masomin]Dosunmu ya gaji matsalar "Kosoko" daga mahaifinsa (Akitoye) ta yadda Kosoko ya kafa sansani mai zaman kansa a Epe tare da mayaka kimanin 400 (ciki har da Oshodi Tapa) kuma daga nan ne ya hargitsa Legas da hare-hare da dama da suka zo kusa da Akitoye. Yayin da Kosoko a karshe ya sanya hannu kan yarjejeniyar Epe a ranar 28 ga watan Satumba 1854 tare da Consul Benjamin Campbell, inda ya amince da kada ya yi wani da'awa ga Legas ko kuma ya kawo barazana ga kasuwanci a Legas. Yarjejeniyar ta kasance nasara ta dabara ga Kosoko wanda ya sa Birtaniya ta amince da jiharsa a Epe. A babban hoto, sarautar Legas ta kasance ba ta isa ba tare da kafuwar zuriyar Akitoye da Dosunmu.
Rikicin Kosoko-Akitoye/Dosunmu ya mamaye fagen tattalin arziki. Magoya bayan Oba Dosunmu ba su cika gamsuwa da kasancewar Birtaniyya a Legas ba bayan sun haɗe a shekarar 1861 yayin da abokan Kosoko suka yi amfani da dangantakar. Bugu da ƙari kuma, bisa ga yarjejeniyar da aka cimma a shekarar 1854, Dosunmu ya yi watsi da haƙƙin ciniki don ayyukan al’ada, wanda daga baya aka tilasta masa yin murabus bisa ga yarjejeniyar 1861 na fansho na £ 1,000 a kowace shekara.[4] Saboda haka, dukiyar Oba ta ragu yayin da Kosoko da abokansa, a karkashin irin wannan takunkumin kasuwanci, suka bunkasa.
Sansanin Kosoko ya ƙunshi maza irin su Oshodi Tapa da Taiwo Olowo waɗanda suka shiga kasuwanci cikin ƙwazo da kamfanonin Turai. Shugaban bangaren tattalin arzikin Dosunmu shi ne Cif Apena Ajasa wanda ya yi taho-mu-gama da Taiwo Olowo. Lokacin da Kosoko ya mutu gwamnatin mulkin mallaka ta kiyasta cewa bangaren tattalin arzikinsa ne ya fi karfi da mabiya akalla 20,000.[5]

[gyara sashe | gyara masomin]Bayan barazanar da Kosoko da Faransawa suka yi a Wydah, Lord Palmerston (Firayim Ministan Burtaniya) ya yanke shawara wanda ya lura da "al'amarin bata lokaci wajen daukar wani tsari na kariya na Legas".[6] William McCoskry, Mukaddashin Consul a Legas tare da Kwamanda Bedingfield ya kira taro da Oba Dosunmu a ranar 30 ga watan Yuli 1861 a cikin jirgin HMS Prometheus inda aka bayyana manufar Biritaniya da kuma amsa sharuddan da aka bukaci a watan Agusta 1861. Dosunmu ya ki amincewa da sharuddan yarjejeniyar amma a karkashin barazanar tada zaune tsaye a Legas da Kwamanda Bedingfield, Dosunmu ya yi, ya rattaba hannu kan yarjejeniyar tsagaita bude wuta a Legas.[7]
Rikici da Gwamna Glover
[gyara sashe | gyara masomin]Wasu kamfanonin Faransa da suka yi asarar rangwamen kasuwancinsu, sun kai wa Dosunmu, rashin jin dadinsu da kasancewar Birtaniya a Legas, inda suka yi masa alkawarin taimaka masa kan yin tawaye ga Gwamna John Hawley Glover. Glover ya yi watsi da yunkurin, ya ci tarar Dosunmu fam 50, sannan ya dakatar da alawus dinsa na tsawon watanni 4.[8] Dosunmu bai ji dadi ba, sai ya ji Glover ya yi amfani da Kosoko wajen tofa albarkacin bakinsa. Matsayin Dosunmu ya dace saboda Glover yana da kusanci sosai da abokan Kosoko kamar Oshodi Tapa wanda Glover ya tuntube shi kafin ya ci gaba da ayyukan jama'a[9] da Taiwo Olowo wanda Glover ya karfafa gwiwar kasuwanci da kamfanin Messrs GL Gaiser.[10]
