A FANCB (do inglés Fanconi anemia complementation group B protein, Proteína de complementación do grupo B da anemia de Fanconi) é unha proteína que nos humanos está codificada no xene FANCB do cromosoma X.[1][2][3]
O grupo de complementación da anemia de Fanconi (FANC) actualmente inclúe os seguintes membros: FANCA, FANCB, FANCC, FANCD1 (tamén chamada BRCA2), FANCD2, FANCE, FANCF, FANCG, e FANCL. A anemia de Fanconi é un trastorno xenético recesivo heteroxéneo caracterizado pola inestabilidade citoxenética, hipersensibilidade aos axentes que causan enlaces cruzados no ADN, incremento da rotura dos cromosomas e reparación do ADN defectuosa. Os membros do grupo de complementación da anemia de Fanconi non comparten similutude de secuencia, senón que están relacionados pola súa ensamblaxe nun complexo proteico nuclear común. Este xene codifica a proteína do grupo de complementación B. O empalme alternativo orixina dúas variantes de transcrición que codifican a mesma proteína.[3]
Meiose
[editar | editar a fonte]Os ratos mutantes para FANCB son estériles e mostran defectos nas células xerminais primordiais durante a embrioxénese. As células xerminais e o tamaño testicular están gravemente afectados nestes ratos mutantes.[4] A proteína FANCB é esencial para a espermatoxénese e probablemente ten un papel na activación da vía de reparación do ADN da anemia de Fanconi durante a meiose.[4]
