A caching wrapper for Enumerator
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'caching_enumerator'
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install caching_enumerator

enum = CachingEnumerator.new do |yielder|
5.times do |i|
puts "very expensive operation #{i}"
yielder.yield i
end
end
enum.take 2
# very expensive operation 0
# very expensive operation 1
# => [0, 1]
enum.take 3

# => [0, 1, 2]
enum.next

enum.rewind.next

# calling `reset` will clear the cache and rewind the internal pointers

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup
to install dependencies. Then, run rake test
to run the tests.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install
. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb
, and then run bundle exec rake release
, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem
file to rubygems.org.
