File Iaránach ba ea Khwāja Shamsu d-Dīn Muhammad Hāfez-e Shīrāzī (Peirsis: خواجه شمس دین محمد حافظ شیرازی), nó Hāfez mar is fearr aithne air,[1]. Níl mórán eolais againn ar a shaol,[2] ach bhí tionchar ollmhór ag a shaothar ar litríocht, ar cheol, ar ealaíon agus ar challagrafaíocht lucht labhartha na Peirsise.[3][4] Tá clú agus cáil air ar fud an domhain, go mór mhór i gcríocha na Peirsise san Iaráin, san Afganastáin agus sa Táidsíceastáin. Is iomaí finscéal a insítear faoi. Is iad téamaí an ghrá, an chreidimh agus an fhimíneachais is mó a fheictear i ndánta Hafiz.
