edX es una plataforma de cursos masiva, abierta y online MOOC fundada por el Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts y la Universidad de Harvard en Mayo de 2012 para hospedar cursos online de nivel universitarios de una ampllio rango de disciplinas para todo el mundo sin costos para propiciar el investigacion y el aprendizaje. EdX tiene cerca de 1.6 milliones de usuarios. Cada una de estas dos instituciones contribuyen con $30 milliones de recursos para este proyecto sin ánimo de lucro. El curos de Circuitos y Electronica, comenzo en Diciembre de 2011, a traves de MITx, el programa online y masivo del MIT.[1] Actualmente hay 29 institutos que ofrecen o planifican ofrecer cursos en el sitio web de edX.[2]
