editInherited from Ottoman Turkish صراحی (ṣurāhi, “a decanter, carafe”),[1][2] from Arabic صُرَاح (ṣurāḥ, “clear, pure”), from صَرَحَ (ṣaraḥa, “to expound clearly, to clarify”).[3]
