pseudocodeword (plural pseudocodewords)

1. (mathematics) The result obtained when a decoder fails to converge on a codeword, but instead converges on some other code structure.
   • 2004, IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, page 67:

     We examine the structure of pseudocodewords in Tanner graphs and derive lower bounds of pseudocodeword weights.
