editBlend of Hawaiian manō (“shark”) + Japanese 狐 (kitsune, “fox”). Coined by species creator DubMutt around late 2016 or early 2017; but presently first attested by a Twitter user on 6 April 2017 (see quotations).

- (furry fandom) A fictional species of furry (animal-like character with human-like characteristics) creatures with a shark-like tail, fin, digitigrade legs, raptor-like back arch, short arms with digital pads and a canid body and face.
