   • 1963, Sándor Szathmári, “Honorigo”, in Satiraj rakontoj‎^[1]:

     — Tute ne! — protestis Palva. — Mi legas ĉiam sen okulvitroj.

     “Aren’t you nearsighted?”, he asked.
     “Not at all,” Palva protested. “I always read without eyeglasses.”

2. plural of okulvitro

• The first Esperanto dictionary, the Universala Vortaro, used plural okulvitroj for eyeglasses. The vicissitudes of usage have given the singular an identical meaning.
