Noun

edit

epatraktor c

  1. classification issued from 1940 to 1975 for a vehicle that has been reclassified as an agricultural machine, but is mainly used for personal transport
  2. (nonstandard) Synonym of A-traktor
    • 2024 February 28, Oscar Lundberg, “EU-parlamentet vill se höjd åldersgräns för A-traktor [The EU Parliament wants to see an increased age limit for A-tractors.]”, in SVT Nyheter:
Förslaget innebär att ett B1-körkort, med en åldersgräns på 16 år, ska krävas för att få köra A-traktor, som även kallas EPA-traktor.
The proposal suggests that a B1 driver's license, with a minimum age of 16, should be required to drive an A-tractor, also known as an EPA tractor.

Usage notes

edit
  • In 1975 a new classification standard was introduced, which also introduced the term A-traktor.
  • According to some enthusiasts, only a vehicle classified before 1975 can be a "true" epatraktor. But both epatraktor and A-traktor are generally accepted synonyms.
