-phone

Hello, what the name of a Hebrew speaker? Hebrewophone? In French, it is hébréophone. Pamputt 08:34, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I don't think there is an analogous English compound for "Hebrew speaker," "German speaker," "Spanish speaker," etc. We would simply say "Hebrew speaker." We do have "francophone," but only because the term already exists in French. -AlanUS (talk) 13:07, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hypothetically Hebraeophone because of the Latin hebraeus. No idea if it actually exists. Mglovesfun (talk) 13:40, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Eber

edit

The term "Eber" was linked to the German "Eber" (boar) rather than to the Biblical patriarch, so I linked it to the Wikipedia entry instead. It probably would be better to expand the Wiktionary entry instead, but I don't know how to do that for a proper noun. -AlanUS (talk) 13:07, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I undid this; better to add Eber in English. Mglovesfun (talk) 13:43, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
