Suffix sense

edit

@Fish bowl About the suffix sense I added last year: we are talking about this source and its copy on Jisho.org. (If you search りん on Jisho, you have to scroll some to reach the entry in question.) Then there's also the other sense in that entry, "indicates a mild imperative (Mikawa dialect)," which I opted to omit since I had no clue of how that was used. However, I can definitely attest the first sense:

2015, 長月達平, chapter 1, in Re:ゼロから始める異世界生活 3 (MF文庫J), section 7:
「レムりん、見て見て! この繊細な細工を可能とする技量、今、俺の指先にはまさしく奇跡が宿っている! イリュージョン!」
Rem-rin, look, look! Right now, my fingers are miraculously imbued with the skill that makes such fine workmanship possible! The power of illusion!

In fact, in Re:Zero, Subaru constantly refers to Rem in this way. I cannot speak for any other uses besides this series, but as this usage is ongoing, evidently the readers seem to understand its meaning. I hope this is satisfactory, Kiril kovachev (talk) 12:33, 31 July 2022 (UTC) PS: The "7" in the book citation means the seventh 'section', sorry that this doesn't look very clear... as this citation appears at the very start of chapter I part 7, it was an easy one to locate.Reply

@Kiril kovachev Thanks for the information! The JMdict editors' discussion is at [1]. I think your quote would be a good addition to the entry. —Fish bowl (talk) 00:56, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
