Usage notes

edit

The first (1933) edition of 한글 맞춤법 통일안 (han'geul matchumbeop tong'iran) (or 한글 마춤법 통일안) stated that should be used in the words 구ᇚ (= 구멍 (gumeong, “hole”)) and 나ᇚ (= 나무 (namu, “tree”)) (see page 17). However, later editions stated that those words are nonstandard (see page 16 of the 1937 edition) or archaic (see page 15 of the 1945 edition), so is no longer considered a standard final-consonant digraph. The Hangul Syllables block (U+AC00–U+D7AF) in Unicode does not contain any syllables ending in either.
