I'm having troubles with this Template:Infobox DCAU character I created. It's creating about 4 blank spaces between the section header and the text and the infobox. Example: Black Manta#Other media#Justice League--The Judge 22:57, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've been experimenting with it and here's what I've come up with:
I think the problem lies in the template, somewhere here:
{{#if: {{{nickname|}}} | <tr> <th>Nickname(s)</th> <td>{{{nickname}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{alias|}}} | <tr> <th>Aliases</th> <td>{{{alias}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{species|}}} | <tr> <th>Species</th> <td>{{{species}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{gender|}}} | <tr> <th>Gender</th> <td>{{{gender}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{age|}}} | <tr> <th>Age</th> <td>{{{age}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{born|}}} | <tr> <th>Year of Birth</th> <td>{{{born}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{death|}}} | <tr> <th>Year of Death</th> <td>{{{death}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{occupation|}}} | <tr> <th>Occupation</th> <td>{{{occupation}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{title|}}} | <tr> <th>Title</th> <td>{{{title}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{family|}}} | <tr> <th>Family</th> <td>{{{family}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{spouse|}}} | <tr> <th>Spouse</th> <td>{{{spouse}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{children|}}} | <tr> <th>Children</th> <td>{{{children}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{relatives|}}} | <tr> <th>Relatives</th> <td>{{{relatives}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{alliances|}}} | <tr> <th>Alliances</th> <td>{{{alliances}}}</td> </tr>}} {{#if: {{{powers|}}} | <tr><th align="center" colspan="2" style="background: {{{colour|}}}; font-size: 110%">Powers/Abilities</th></tr>}} {{#if: {{{powers|}}} | <td align="center" colspan="2"> {{{powers}}} }}
because if I remove that block it goes away, but when I re-add it, it happens again. I will work on it more, I'm just giving you a heads up on what's the problem. GeorgeMoney (talk) 00:59, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, problem fixed. It was tricky but i managed to get it working. Hope that's ok! GeorgeMoney (talk) 01:11, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I just kept moving around the |'s |-'s and !'s and I kept testing it and finally found the right way. GeorgeMoney (talk) 01:24, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Well, you'll get used to it after a while. It took me time to learn even how to read them! GeorgeMoney (talk) 01:36, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry
Sorry about tagging your article for speedy, I didn't realize what you were doing, I thought you just made a blank page. --Wildnox 04:24, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Help
A little help here. What copyright tag is this picture missing?--The Judge 20:14, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- If you're referring to Image:B60s-Clocking.jpg, you need to add what television program it's from and who the copyright holder is to the image description page. --Carnildo 20:29, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- The television show is Easy, but how do I find out the copyright holder? Actually I just realized that's not a screenshot, it's more like a promotional image released for publicity or that sort of thing.--The Judge 20:33, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Is this good enough?: "Promotional picture of Walter Slazak as the Clock King in Batman".
- If you're going to claim it's a promotional image, you need to provide proof that it is indeed from promotional material intended to be distributed widely. Far too many people use the "promotional" claim to mean "I can't be bothered to find out where this is from". --Carnildo 21:21, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
RE:Edit war
I would agree with having the infobox, and that he shouldn't be edit-warring.
I've left a comment on the talk page and request that people discuss there before making any more reversions.
This should cool down the edit war.
CovenantD
Thank you for your note. That user was one that was hassling me so much over trivial matters in Superman Returns. I quit editing that page a couple of months ago and no longer watch it. So far he hasn't hassled me about anything else, but that could just be coincidental. Wahkeenah 02:41, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- It could be worse. You should see what we've had to deal with at the Apollo "hoax" page. Wahkeenah 02:47, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
My thanks for your note as well! -- JHunterJ 02:58, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Supergirl
what's up, the judge?
since you're practically doing the merge of kara zor-el and supergirl anyway, you might as well change the kara page to redirect to supergirl otherwise we'll pretty much have two of the same article. and if you do that, i would move the Supergirls pic to "other supergirls" and have a solitary pic for the superhero box. what do you think? Exvicious 06:35, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Question
I'm going to ask because it's the right thing to do. Are you User:T-man, the Wise Scarecrow? Steve block Talk 12:10, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
No, I'm not.--The Judge 12:16, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hmmm. Okay. Please don't be offended, but I am going to investigate this further. The user in question was banned from Wikipedia, and as I'm sure you can imagine, evasion of a ban is a serious matter. I apologise for my actions, but Wikipedia needs to be protected against banned users, something I'm sure you will agree with. Steve block Talk 12:21, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Sure. Go ahead. --The Judge 12:44, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
DCAU infoboxes
The spelling of a number of words is wrong, including 'appearEnces', some of the categories automatically put up their tag text, including the 'appearEnces' tags, and so on. I removed it from the Joker page for the same reason. It needs to be fixed, and all pages having it need to be individually spellchecked and reviewed. Good luck fixing it up, hope to see a fullly fucntional IB on the pages. ThuranX 22:20, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- No, the capital E referred to the incorrect spelling. the other problem was the IB was configured, like I said, to put up the tags for each category which were supposed to be invisible, like next to 'number of appearancees, it said ' the number of times the character has appeared' or somethign very similar, and obviously intended to be a no-wiki'd remark statement. I think that most of he significant parts of this debate are going on at the WP:COMICS talk page, and are far bigger than the typos and minor functionality issues. I've put in thoughts there, so I'm going to let you focus there. It does appear that my 'technical' side issues are repaired though, so at least your coding skills are getting better. regards, ThuranX 04:25, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Canvassing
Regarding your messages to people regarding CovenantD, I think it might be prudent of you to read the guidance on Wikipedia:Spam#Canvassing. Steve block Talk 09:26, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- I too find this troubling. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 12:18, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Help needed
... This template I just created doesn't work fine, the content doesn't fully hide Template:Appearances
Using Firefox 1.5 I cannot see any real problem. The contents properly hides although the alignment can be improved a bit maybe. --J B 12:11, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
For the record
There are several people having the exact same problem with the exact same user. And they liked my comment, I don't see what's our problem. Who are you to talk, anyway? You've done nothing but attack me since you poped up in my page (even though you claimed to be friendly), and I resent that. And the warning is still on, if you don't fix the info you chopped off in Clock King soon I'll be callin an admin.
Just to let you know, I myself am an admin. Also, you might want to consider toning down your comments. Please do not feel that I am attacking you, I am merely pointing you in the direction of guidance that may apply to your actions. Canvassing opinion is frowned upon, and I was concerned at you're posting of numerous messages on the talk pages of people you had not made contact with before regarding a user with whom you have a problem. That's not the best way to act on Wikipedia, indeed some might feel you were organising a lynch mob. As to your warning, I suggest you have a read of our policies on no personal attacks and civility and consider whether you should be warning any user. Threatening behaviour is not accepted on Wikipedia. If you have a problem with an edit I have made, you should consider your actions in the light of our policy on dispute resolution. Steve block Talk 13:56, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Civility
Regarding this comment: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. --InShaneee 14:43, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Civility
Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by administrators or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 20:41, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
