Excision from article on "Deadpan"

edit

Not sure if this is how I can contact you... kind of confusing.

Dear Phgao/Gnome dePlume:

It seems I've been excised from the list of "Notable Comedians" in the definition page re: "Deadpan."

Can't understand why, as I am certainly deadpan. (I frequently am compared to three other comedians in the list-- Mitch Hedberg, Steven Wright and Jackie Vernon.)

I have been a professional standup comedian for 25 years, I have multiple network and cable television credits and I am the editor and publisher of the most-read website about standup comedy, SHECKYmagazine.com, which has been featured in USAToday, The Washington Post and the NY Times.

Please restore my name to the entry when you get a chance.

Thanks.

(Not sure if that tilde thing works!)

(I am in the process of adding a page about on Brian McKim, if that helps, let me know.)

Tipton Ladies Football Club

edit

I noticed that you nominated for speedy deletion of Tipton Ladies Football Club. In trolling the unpatrolled pages, I noticed that it was recreated by the same user under a different name Tipton Town Ladies F.C. I AfD'd it, but I thought I'd keep you posted. mitchsurp (talk) 04:50, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Carryback loan

edit

The article Carryback loan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable unsourced dictionary definition

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fair use rationale for File:Leukduck.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Leukduck.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 21:43, 11 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:36, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

World Record Club

edit

I managed to trace World Record Club, a label I recorded an LP for in the '60s, but cannot trace the catalogue listing my 12" LP. It was named "This Year's Lovers" and at that time my name was Ellen Wade. Is there any remote possibility I might be able to view an old catalogue or, miracle of miracles, obtain a copy of my LP?Songbirdellen (talk) 23:40, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

The Great Revival: CVU Vandalism Studies Project

edit

Hi! We're dropping you this rather unexpected message on your talk page because you signed up (either quite a while ago or rather recently) to be a member of the Vandalism Studies project. Sadly, the project fell into semi-retirement a few years ago, but as part of a new plan to fix up the Counter-Vandalism Unit, we're bringing back the Vandalism Studies project, with a new study planned for Late 2012! But we need your help. Are you still interested in working with us on this project? Then please sign up today! (even if you signed up previously, you'll still need to sign up again - we're redoing our member list in order to not harass those who are no longer active on the Wiki - sorry!) If you have any questions, please leave them on this page. Thanks, and we can't wait to bring the project back to life! -Theopolisme (talk) & Dan653 (talk), Coordinators

How do I start a new wikipedia page? kindly help please, thank you

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
