Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Brennan Poole, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rookie of the Year (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

License tagging for File:Brennan Poole Martinsville 2019.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Brennan Poole Martinsville 2019.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 11:30, 14 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source/license for File:On Point Motorsports.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:On Point Motorsports.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

CB Industries moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, CB Industries, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Cabayi (talk) 11:44, 22 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

You'll need to show that CBI meets one of the relevant definitions of notability, WP:NCORP, WP:NMOTORSPORT (which is more relevant to an individual than a team, but it's useful guidance), or WP:GNG. One result from one race, sourced by a link to Twitter's front page rather than a page which mentions CBI, is a long way from satisfying any of the criteria. Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 11:52, 22 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject NASCAR discussion for reference on Logan Seavey

The discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject NASCAR/Archive 9#Results tables resulted in nothing with less notability than K&N to having results pages - nothing that it is possible for the series to have a page but still not be notable enough for it to have a results table on drivers pages. Hi, I find it very unlikely that all of those images of Brennan Poole are your own work. An explanation of those images would be much appreciated. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 13:42, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

ScottFan44: not sure if this is even closely the way I’m supposed to respond, but the Charlotte test pictures were mine, however the others weren’t but I was given the right by the individual photographers to upload the images and use them on Wikipedia, I can recheck to see if they were the right photographers but beyond that I do not know what you would like for me to explain.

To reply, ping me using the code {{re|username}}. The issue with the photos is that you tagged all of them by CC-SA 4.0, implying that you were the photographer for all of them. As such, two have been tagged for speedy deletion on Commons as copyrighted works from Poole's Facebook page. I recommend you visit the village pump in Commons to explain your situation and address the licensing issues, as the others may get tagged for speedy deletion as well. I believe there is a way to tag them appropriately, though I'm not exactly sure as I haven't ever done that myself. (P.S. - Make sure to sign you talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~!) Speedy deletion nomination of Fat Head Racing Driver Development Program

edit

Hello ScottFan44,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Fat Head Racing Driver Development Program for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

I’m fully aware but I don’t really care how respected he is, he sees social media from drivers OFFICIAL accounts as non-reliable sources, he and others think it’s perfectly fine to decide what is a “notable win” such as the case with Logan Seavey who’s a full-time USAC Midget driver, when I add the Pepsi Nationals, POWRi Midget Championship, & USAC Midget Championship to his achievements he wants to take that down, however Rico Abreu, Christopher Bell, & Rich Vogler are perfectly fine to have the achievements in their list, and don’t tell me “add it as a discussion” because I’ve done that already, no one wants to look at that because if they do they don’t have any points to prove why their standards are correct or they don’t look at it at all because they knew the moment they said “add it as a discussion” they weren’t gonna look at it. He personally goes after my edits anytime I make one to revert the edit despite the information being true, if he doesn’t want to be “attacked” as you put it, tell him to not target me anytime I decide to add content to Wikipedia, I’m a regular user who is just trying to make the info correct or sufficient so drivers don’t have just their top level career as their info such as the case of Ryan Vargas, maybe if he didn’t target me we’d have less of a problem going forwards... But hey just like y’all do with discussions you’re gonna toss this message to the side or ban me because you have no counterargument. ScottFan44 (talk) 14:57, 4 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Clearing the air

edit

Hi! I'd just like to start off by saying that I do not have a personal vendetta against you. In fact, I've tried to lend you a helping hand multiple times on talk pages (including this one), moved your pages to draftspace (where you have a chance to develop them free from attack) when others have tagged them for deletion, and didn't report you when you hit level four warnings because I truly believe that you can contribute constructively. Where I believe most of the misunderstandings are coming from is the verifying of information. Wikipedia's official policy on verifiability states that "any material that needs a source but does not have one may be removed." Your edits tend to be more in-depth, and sometimes have anecdotal evidence that, while potentially true, is unlikely and not supported by an inline source. This is not to say that it is false, just that it is not verified and not fit for inclusion on Wikipedia at that point. On the point of adding content from social media sites/drivers websites - Wikipedia's policy on reliable sources states that content from user-generated sites, including social media sites and personal websites is not accepted as a reliable source, as it needs to be independently verified. Some other misunderstandings have come from disputes over Wikipedia's point of view policy - while it's nice to hype up people's achievements or to dramatize their shortcomings, Wikipedia is not a storytelling site but rather a neutral dispenser of information. As a new page reviewer and a draft reviewer, I come into contact with these policies a lot and use them on an almost-daily basis, leading me to know what is and is not violations of these policies.

With a couple others dropping by on the talk page and expressing a couple of the same concerns I have, I hope you understand that I'm not trying to "target" you at all but that every decision I make is with the best interest of the encyclopedia in mind. All I want is a neutral, reliably cited encyclopedia. I don't want to see you blocked, I don't want to see jabs in edit summaries, I just want to collaboratievly build the encyclopedia.

I hope that this clears up any misconceptions you may have had about the situation, and that you understand where I am coming from on this. Sincerely, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 23:00, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Because it is one of the most coveted & covered late model events currently, on top of this all these other races have been well established in the late model community for years on years now, also this discussion doesn’t belong in any type of NASCAR thread, this driver doesn’t race in NASCAR & likely never will unless you count ARCA, none of these races are NASCAR events or even partly sanctioned by NASCAR, it’s the same situation with Logan Seavey’s page all those events I added on his and this one are very well established as crown jewel races for both Midgets and Super Late Models however for whatever reason you and others somehow think Super Late Models and Midgets are just a stepping stone to NASCAR, which has never been the case nor will it ever be the case, it is a top form of motorsport and their crown jewel races shouldn’t be determined by what a sub community of NASCAR fans decide on, the Pepsi Nationals, Iron Man 55, etc... are all crown jewel midget races yet you and others say it’s not notable, while there’s 10’s if not 100’s of thousands of us that’ll prove you wrong in a heartbeat, same goes for the Kern County Winter Showdown, SpeedFest 200, etc... because once again 10’s if not 100’s of thousands will prove you wrong that fast, I can promise you all these races you wanna tell me aren’t notable are some of the biggest races for a racing driver to win no matter where or what they compete in, I know you’re gonna probably come back at me again saying you don’t have an issue with me or something like that but that’s not the problem here, you continuously try to diminish the meaning of some of the biggest races and not only does this annoy people like me and other diehard fans of these top levels of motorsport it just further fuels the idea these aren’t top levels of motorsport when they are and always have been, what you are doing by not allowing these races to be counted as notable is essentially killing the sport itself by making it seem amateur like to some kid looking into drivers career hence killing the popularity and in the long run killing series like POWRi, USAC, the CARS Tour, PASS, & many others like BMARA & the Southern Super Series as a whole, so once again I don’t have a problem with you, I understand you don’t have a problem with me from what I’ve read, but you have to understand diminishing these races notability just because they aren’t NASCAR or ARCA hurts these series in the long run, and I’ve already heard you time and time again say open a discussion and I already have, it’s useless, almost none of you care, all you wanna do is diminish these races until they have no shot of being noteworthy to any fan watching, so I’m just gonna stop here, I as one person can’t stop a gaggle of you trying to present these races and series as amateur and just a stepping stone to NASCAR as much as I wish I could, so yeah there’s my rant on sorry for the language here but the dumb shit y’all pull constantly on here, there’s literally no use of trying to give other people valuable info on what these guys do, people like Bubba Pollard & Logan Seavey will only be seen as amateurs instead of the legends in racing they are & will continue to be in the future because according to the logic you guys use they didn’t make it all the way to NASCAR so what they did isn’t notable, I’m probably gonna stop editing from now, I mean my account will probably get banned from this rant because I cussed in it so goodbye, this shit is so pointless. Notable late model race wins

edit

I’m going to try and cordially resolve this, like I did in December, by offering a few points. Most of the “notable” wins you are adding garner less coverage than your average Cup/Xfinity/Truck race, so should we add every national series win a driver has? No. Just like how only a few Cup events go in the infobox (Daytona, Darlington, Bristol) it is like that in short track racing as well. For instance, the Speed51 Super Select is a race where the entry list is controlled by the organizer and is not open to anybody, and on top of that, is in its infancy as an event. In no way can it be considered a “crown jewel”. If you would like to open a discussion at WT:NASCAR, there are other editors in the project that have late model knowledge that can also contribute. Please feel free to reach out to me. Regards, Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 14:09, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Zacnascarguy88 fan, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Proposed deletion of Daniel Dye

edit

Hello, ScottFan44

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Willsome429 and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've proposed an article that you started, Daniel Dye, for deletion because it meets one of the relevant criteria and I believe that the article obviously and uncontroversially does not belong in an encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to prevent the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Willsome429}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
