Welcome

edit

Ciao! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank for interest in volleyball articles... however I told you that I reverted the addition of MedalCountry templates as they were largey redundant. I think they have been introduced only for those cases in which the competitor changed country; otherwise I seem that there's no need to repeat again from which country they are. Bye and good work. --Attilios 08:43, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, it seems that you have made so much contributes taht I've no time to rvert all them... however, maybe next time be less bold and contact someone first before such a massive intervention. But anyway thanks and good work. --Attilios 08:53, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Medal tables

edit

Medals must be list in value order. Don't change them. Good work!! --Attilios 09:02, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

There have been multiple articles out stating Bilyal Makhov's positive drug tests which resulted in his downgrade to silver and the IOC lists him as a silver medalist with this link https://olympics.com/en/athletes/bilyal-makhov they just need to update the final standing table as it seems to be a blip on their end. Also here is an article explaining. https://www.tehrantimes.com/news/454534/Iran-s-Ghasemi-new-gold-medalist-of-2012-Olympics

Hot100 Brazil

edit

Hey dude,

According to a reliable source [1], the Hot100 @ Brasil website is not an official source of information. To be honest, I believed the site was official too before all of this, but he said that info before I discovered the real Albums chart of Brazil, which is here. Him (AutomaticBR, from that forum) being a Brazilian dude himself can know about it. If you compare the both sites, the Hot100 one is much different. Plus, that official website has two airplay charts, for 2 regions in Brazil, for São Paolo and for Rio de Janeiro. The dude from the forum says there is no official airplay chart in brazil, which explains why that official website has only two regions and not one full airplay chart. So all AutomaticBR said in my source link make sense if you watch it closely. Hot100@brasil is fake :) That's the bottom line.

If you feel like responding, do it on my talk page, cuz i never watch my watch-list anymore lol. Hope you don't feel like I'm picking a fight or anything. -- Luigi-ish (talk) 22:02, 20 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Volley

edit

I have seen that you edited some volleyball articles. Some players articles, most of them looks outdated. I would like to improve players by country. Could you please choose a country to contribute with? Please take a look on Yekaterina Gamova, Hélia Souza, Serena Ortolani and Kenia Carcaces for a model to follow. Please can you please improve some volleyball players with infobox and some addons? References are very important. Let me know. Oscar987 21:54, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Getting Wikimedians to the Olympic Games

edit

Hi. I am part of an effort to get Wikimedians access to the 2016 Summer Olympics as accredited reporters and photographers. Part of this effort includes covering the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Two Wikimedians have credentials to attend these games as reporters through Wikimedia Australia. As English Wikipedia does not allow original reporting, this is largely through Wikinews with a project page found at Wikinews:Paralympic Games. If you are interested in helping to get Wikimedians to the next Summer Olympics,I'd encourage you to assist with Wikinews efforts, and also to work on all language 2012 Summer Paralympic Wikipedia articles before, during and after the Games to demonstrate a track record of success. Thank you. --LauraHale (talk) 04:40, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your interest in Championship articles

edit

I see you started 2008 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships and wondered if you had any interest in, or time to create the articles between then and the present day? It looks very much like a labour of love and the articles, unless the championship changed its name, seem to be wholly absent. I have only a passing interest in the matter and little time to research the results and attempt the complex formatting. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 07:45, 28 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I know it's a labour of love. No-one will die if it takes a while for you to do it, of course. I only discovered the void after adding a new article on Edward Upcott and those who surrounded his own championship status. Thanks for the reply :) Fiddle Faddle (talk) 07:37, 9 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

References

edit

Dear Jonas kam, I have been following your edits and contributions about volleyball articles, and I really appreciate your hard work. Nonetheless, is not optional using references about EVERY content you add in an article. Must information on infoboxes should be explained and referenced in the body with the appropriate prose and well referenced. Explaining: You recently added the medal templates about the 2014 FIVB Women's World Championship in mostly every medal winner, excellent, but you need to add text in the career section and cite your sources. Thanks again, Osplace 19:40, 13 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, they DO need adjusments, but there is a lot of unreferenced information. Are you willing to help with those adjustments? Then, do both, add the medal template AND the appropiate text. Be aware that you are currently doing is not ok. But I know you can do better. Osplace 19:53, 13 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Valeu! Pergunta

edit

Qual é o seu critério pra ordem das tabelas do artigo Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics?

Invitation to the African Destubathon

edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

In this edit, you reverted my edit, calling it "Vandalism", when, in fact, I had corrected the spelling of Jordyn Wieber. Since you restored the incorrect spelling, I reverted your edit. I then investigated further, and reverted to the version before an IP added incorrect information. This is probably what you intended to do. Information icon  Hi Jonas kam! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Bryony Botha that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Football at the Summer Olympics

edit

Dear Jonas kam,
earlier today, you reverted an edit about the flag of the German football team at the 1964 Summer Olympics. What's the reason that you want to have the (then) West-German flag there? That must be a misunderstanding.
In your reverse you wrote at the end "Cited in note". Certainly the note says "The East German team represented the United Team of Germany in 1964, winning the bronze medal." But whether the note is there or not, crucial is that the West-German flag was (and is again now) WRONG! That way it certainly doesn't go along with the note anyway which says that the United Team of Germany was represented there (not the West-German team).
As can be read in the wikipedia article United Team of Germany at the 1964 Summer Olympics, Germany used in Tokyo a black-red-yellow flag with the Olympic rings in the middle. Pictures of the Olympics in 1964 which show that flag can easily be found on the internet (e.g.: here, here and here).
In the table of the paragraph Performances by country here in this same article in the line "United Team of Germany", correctly the German Olympic flag with the Olympic rings is shown, not the West-German flag.
An interesting reflection in that context is: if somebody, for some inexplicable reason, doesn't like the German Olympic flag from 1956 till 1964 with the Olympic rings in that place in this article then the East-German flag would be more appropriate than the West-German flag because the United German football team in 1964 was not a "united" team but came from East-Germany. In the preliminary qualification for the Olympic football tournament that year between West-Germany and East-Germany the East-Germans had won against the West-Germans in two games (home and away) with the aggregate result of 4:2. But of course, the East-German flag wouldn't be correct for the 1964 Olympic Games either, but it's still closer to the origin of these football players than the West-German flag.
Thank you for mentioning the note in your revert because that note, not the flag, was the actual blooper in the edit you reverted. When the correct flag is depicted there then this note is, of course, superfluous. With that helpful hint in mind I'll give it another go, this time not only correcting the flag but removing the then confusing and unnecessary note as well.
Very best wishes
