Invitation to participate in a research

edit

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

Perfidy in the wild?!

edit

Don't get a chance to use perfidy very often. Also, good demonstrating of good faith by not immediately blocking, which is what I would have done. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 16:04, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hey ho. If I get a positive message every time I might need to start editing with a thesaurus at hand. I did consider blocking immediately, which I see you have now done. I ran a check on them and the results were not what you'd usually expect from a LTA, so I reckoned I'd give them one... uhh... lilliputian chance – a formality if nothing else – to thoroughly explain why they attempted to impersonate someone, prior to pushing the button. I was going to leave them unblocked as well, leaving that to your judgement, but when I checked the history and saw that they had removed that section after being caught out that pushed me over the edge to block. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 16:30, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello,

I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Wikipedia. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement.

Take the survey here.
